ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

The Western Cape Government (WCG) is responsible for making the laws for and providing services to the people of the province. The WCG works closely with the South African National Government as well as various municipalities within the Western Cape, ensuring that all people are provided with the facilities, services, and information they need.
The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public works is a department within the Western Cape Government that is responsible for the development of transport systems within the province. They are responsible for maintaining and constructing buildings and other structures for departments of the provincial government.

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Western Cape (Cape Cape Winelands)
Duration: 12 months
Stipend: R2 400 per month

The Western Cape Government (WCG) Department of Transport and Public Work is offering Trade learnership opportunities to unemployed youth who aim to make a difference. The learnerships are within the Construction industry and will include theoretical and practical training at a private or public TVET college, applying all the regulations pertaining to health and safety, working on a building site, partaking in all administrative tasks, as well as maintaining work areas.

  • Road Works L3 learnership

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen and resident
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be residing within the Cape Winelands Region
  • Must be between 18 and 34 years old
  • Must have good health
  • Must be willing to partake in substance abuse and medical examinations
  • Must be willing to work on a construction site
  • Must be able and willing to work and travel to various building sites within the province
  • Electrical learnership: must have completed Grade 10 or TVET equivalent and have passed Mathematical Literacy
  • Road Works learnership: must have completed Grade 10 or TVET equivalent and have passed Mathematical Literacy
