Yes4Youth is committed to developing youths in South Africa so that they can enter the workplace with new skills and work experience.

About the Learnership Programme

The learnership is a 12-month programme in which you will be tasked with duties at Spar. You will be given a smartphone from Yes4Youth and throughout the programme you will use the App to build your skills-set.

You will also complete on-line surveys required by Yes4Youth both weekly and monthly, as well as halfway and finally at the end of your learnership.

Spar provides a structured curriculum where you are guided by trainers and you will be exposed to both the theoretical and practical, real-time company working sessions.

Once you have completed the learnership, you will be able to create your updated CV underlying all the new skills you have learnt.

Your CV will be verified. You will also be given a reference letter from Spar highlighting your achievements and capabilities.

Having had theoretical and active experience as well as receiving a formal letter detailing your exposure at Spar, will enable you to move forward in your career.

You receive full theoretical and practical training with no costs.

Requirements

To apply, the learners require the following:

  • South African citizen
  • Black learner (BEE)
  • Matric qualification
  • Between the ages of 18 and 28
  • Unemployed youth
  • Clear criminal record
  • Has not been part of the Yes4Youth programme for more than 8 months
  • Will commit to the 12 months programme
  • FET qualification advantageous

The application form must be fully completed with all of your official details before submission. Your details will be independently verified so please ensure your details are valid. If they are not, you will be disqualified from the application process.

Please note that if you have not heard back from Spar within 3 months, your application was unsuccessful. If you are short-listed you will have to attend a JumpStart training session through Spar, do some work experience, and go through the Spar/Buildt interview process.

Those who are successful are offered a contract for the 12 months learnership programme offered.
