Department of Education Internship Programme Requirements

Talented candidates looking to apply must meet all the requirements as set out by the Department. These may differ slightly in accordance with each district or province. Candidates must ensure they have all requirements as set out for the position and area of application.

Applicants will require the following:

  • Applicants must hold a valid South African ID
  • Applicants must have a valid Matric certificate
  • Applicants must have proof of residence
  • Applicants must have full academic transcripts
  • Applicants must have a degree or diploma within the field of application

Applicants must also include a complete curriculum vitae with the application form and ensure all contact detail is up to date. Candidates with disability are encouraged to apply if they meet all set requirements.

Department of Education Internship Programme Application

The Department of Education internships applications online is not available, open internships will be advertised. Applicants can, however, download the application or collect one from their local Department. Candidates must complete the form and submit it with relevant documentation to the Department offices within their area. Applicants can also only do so in response to advertised internships.

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of their internship, as well as gain invaluable knowledge within their chosen career field. These internships do not guarantee a full-time position but are aimed at bridging the gap for candidates from study to the workforce.

Department Of Education Internships: Closing Dates

Closing dates may differ in accordance with each province or district. These closing dates run from January through to April and August each year. Candidates are reminded to please ensure they know the closing date of their application. Make sure all documentation is attached and applications are submitted on time.
