About The Learnership

The Lancet Phlebotomy Technician Learnership lasts 24 months and is catered toward the development of a candidate’s competence in the phlebotomy field.

This includes performing the various techniques within a controlled biomedical pathology setting. The candidate will receive relevant training and experience to be placed in the position of Student Phlebotomy Technician.

Upon acceptance, successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of an undisclosed amount.

Requirements

This learnership has set criteria that all applicants must meet to be accepted for selection. The requirements are the following:

  • Matric certificate with a symbol D passes in English, Biology, Mathematics, or Maths Literacy.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience in phlebotomy advantageous.

Candidates will be required to attend formal training programs such as lectures and practical training sessions. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be granted the opportunity to register with the HPCSA as qualified Phlebotomist Technicians.
