HomeChoice is a top omnichannel retailer in South Africa and was founded in 1985. In 1985, the company was a mail-order retailer for homeware products bought on credit to many consumers. In the 1990s, the growth and popularity of call centres helped introduce support order mail catalogues; independent home delivery networks were also established in the country; and by 1997, the HomeChoice website was created. In the 2000s the company launched the HomeChoice Development Trust with the aim to help support local communities in early childhood development programmes. The 2000s also saw the creation of FinChoice, which was made to offer HomeChoice customer’s financial services and products. In the 2010s a number of changes happened. From HomeChoice being created, offering personal technology and computer products in 2010, to the Cape Town offices being awarded a 5-star green building status in 2019. HomeChoice grew paramountly and today still follows their main aim.

They provide their customers with a wide range of curated products on personalized terms. HomeChoice’s aim is to meet all their customer’s demands and expectations and do this by providing many retail shopping channels that are convenient and easy to access.

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Southern Suburbs, Cape Town, Western Cape
Duration: 6 to 9 months
Salary: Market related
Position: Merchandise Planning Internship

HomeChoice is inviting graduates to apply for the exciting position of Showroom Intern at the branch in Southern Suburbs, Cape Town. Interns will gain valuable working experience in the field during the course of the programme.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must be under 35 years of age
Must have completed Matric
Must have passed Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy in Matric
Must have passed English 1st or 2nd Language in Matric
Must have completed a tertiary qualification in one of these areas: Business Management, Marketing Management or Sales/
Must NOT have a criminal record
Must have a clear credit record
Must be unemployed
No working experience is required
