As part of the Innovation hub’s skills development programmes, SANSA offers an Internship Programme in which unemployed graduates and postgraduates from the Western Cape are offered an opportunity to acquire practical industry work experience through mentoring, couching and exposure.

SANSA has the following Internship opportunities in the Space Science Directorate situated in Hermanus, Western Cape for enthusiastic, hardworking South African citizens from the Western Cape in the following areas of specialisation or disciplines: Human Resources:

Duties(Not limited to this):

  • oPrepare and maintain employment records related to events such as appointments, terminations, leave, transfers, promotions, etc. using SAP
  • Ensure proper maintenance of records and easy retrieval of documents as and when required
  • Perform all administrative and transactional services
  • Administer the recruitment service from advertisement to appointment
  • Ensure proper record tracking system
  • Examine employee files to answer enquires and provide information for personnel actions
  • Organize meetings and events
  • Run reports on SAP and prepare various documents accurately, timeously and in accordance with the specific needs to which the documents are required.

Requirements:

Degree in Human Resource Management, including BTech in HR related field

ICT:

Duties (not limited to this):

  • Provide desktop support to users
  • Installation / upgrade of computers
  • Maintenance of network infrastructure
  • Assist with network cabling and server cabinet wiring
  • Inventory of ICT store rooms
  • Basic network administration on Microsoft Windows and Linux-based servers
  • Documenting of network services and infrastructure
  • Opportunity for development of additional programming skills

Requirements:

National Diploma / Degree in Information Systems

Finances:

Duties (not limited to this):

  • oFiling of SCM, finance and administrative documentation
  • administrative tasks
  • switchboard duties
  • assist with stock taking
  • physical asset verification and maintenance of asset database
  • transactional processing on SAGE X3
  • archiving of SCM, finance and administrative documentation
  • assist with administration and preparation for on-site conferences and meetings

Requirements:

National Diploma/Degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration

Communications:

Duties(Not limited to this):

  • oExecution of a Public Relations plan
  • SANSA: Space Science’s media liaison and monitoring
  • Writing and editing of organisational and promotional material
  • Collateral and branding
  • Events
  • Internal communication
  • Website content
  • Organise meetings and events
  • Stakeholder engagement

Requirements:

BA degree (Communication) or Public Relations Diploma (three-year course at tertiary education institute); Proven language (English) proficiency and writing and editing skills; Understanding and ability to proactively utilise latest communication trends and channels

The minimum requirements for placement of intern candidates are as follows:

  • Should be 35 years of age or younger at the time of submitting an application;
  • Be a South African citizen or South African Permanent Resident (with a valid South African Identity Document).
  • Willing to live in Hermanus, Western Cape for the entire duration of their internship.

Interns will receive a stipend and additional soft skills training from the innovation hub.

Background verification, including criminal record, credit checks, security clearances, qualification and citizenship checks as well as competency assessment and psychometric testing, may form part of the selection process.

SANSA will host the Interns in Hermanus but contracting will be with the Innovation hub.
