DETAILS ABOUT THE GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Boksburg, Gauteng

Volvo Trucks is offering a Graduate Internship opportunity within their Finance and Control department, for graduates with a BCom Degree in Accounting (or equivalent). During the programme, the candidate will be expected to occasionally travel as well as be exposed to the following areas of the Accounts team:

    • Performing general ledger and journal recordings
    • Ensuring that account reconciliations are performed
    • Ensuring that periodical Accounts Receivable reports are delivered, as well as administrating related general ledger reconciliations
    • Ensuring that all daily banking activities that relate to the identification of Customer deposits are coordinated as well as ensuring customer account transactions are cleared
    • Taking control of all the activities regarding the opening of new customer accounts as well as managing all the master data information conforms in line with the necessary standard
    • Performing excellent credit risk evaluations and vetting new customer credit applications
    • Occasionally, participating/ managing projects within the master finance area, focusing mainly on maintaining both financial control performance improvements and finance governance standards
    • Executing mater data updates in both accounts receivables and GL
    • Ensuring that reports and statistics are delivered to authorities and necessary parties
    • Ensuring that closing schedule preparation/ Period End Closing time plans are managed

as well as communicating and cooperating with all stakeholders

    • Ensuring that all necessary documentation for internal and external audits are prepared
    • Fulfilling internal control requirements
    • Ensuring that all work is done according to the Process requirements and work

instructions

  • Ensuring that forms, work instructions, and spreadsheets are prepared and updated for accounting personnel
  • Participating in process standardization

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

  • Must have completed a Bachelors of Commerce Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Must be driven by deadlines
  • Must be motivated
